Install Open Signal on Windows
Install Open Signal on Windows 10 or 11 from the MSI installer, find where your settings and pictures live, and confirm which build you are running.
Open Signal ships as a single MSI installer and runs on Windows 10 and 11.
Installing
- Download
OpenSignal-<version>.msifrom the link in your invitation or update email. - Double-click it and follow the wizard: licence, install location, done. It installs for the whole machine and puts Open Signal shortcuts on the desktop and Start menu.
- Launch it. The first time you open the app you’re greeted by the first-run wizard, which walks you through your callsign and the basics.
The installer always replaces whatever version was there before — you never need to uninstall first, and installing the same version again simply repairs it.
Where your things live
The install folder stays read-only. Everything of yours lives under %APPDATA%\OpenSignal:

Uninstalling the app leaves all of that in place, so a reinstall picks up where you left off.
Which build am I running?
Version numbers can repeat across rebuilds. The status log (bottom of the Receive screen) prints a line at startup like:

That build time is the definitive answer to “am I on the latest?”.
