Paste a picture from the clipboard
Stage a screenshot, a copied file or an image from the browser straight from the clipboard with Ctrl+V — no saving to disk first.
Anything picture-shaped on your clipboard can be staged for transmit directly — no saving to a file first.
How
Either:
- Press the Paste button in the Transmit screen’s header, or
- Press Ctrl+V anywhere in the app (as long as you’re not typing in a text box — pasting text into the message field still works normally).
The picture stages exactly as if you’d chosen it as a file: preview, cost, current send mode, callsign stamp — then Transmit when ready.
What can be pasted
- A copied image file (right-click → Copy in Explorer)
- A screenshot (PrtScn, Snipping Tool, Win+Shift+S)
- An image copied from a browser (right-click → Copy image)
- Something copied out of Open Signal itself on another machine
Formats: PNG, JPEG, BMP, GIF, WebP. A pasted GIF plays in the staged preview and stays animated when sent via hybrid or photo mode.
If nothing happens
The status line says why — usually “the clipboard has no picture” (you copied text or a file that isn’t an image), or a transmission is in progress (finish or stop it first).
